Doula care is still fairly new to the scene and you may have questions about my place in your plan. If this doesn’t cover everything, please don’t hesitate to reach out via my “Contact” page

Getting Started

  • Once you’ve sent me a note via the “Let’s Meet!” form on the contact page, I’ll review the information you’ve sent over. I’ll reach back out to you in 48 hours via your preferred contact method. If I have capacity during your “due window,” we’ll schedule a meet up to get to know each other better. This is a free meeting with no pressure to book my services.

If I am not available during the time you would need my services, I will let you know and share some options!

  • Supes cajh. We’ll meet at a spot near you and grab something to sip on. I’ll share my background and view on doula services. We’ll get to know each other a little bit and talk about your vision for life with a new baby. If it seems like I’m the right helper for your family, we can begin the process of getting your services booked. If not, that’s ok! I’d love to help you find what you’re looking for.

  • Once we’ve agreed to work together, I’ll create a contract outlining our work terms (hours, cost, expectations, etc.). I’ll send you a digital copy to review and sign. A non-refundable retainer for half of your total will be due at this time to reserve your spot. This will be credited toward the cost of your package.

  • No worries! Part of being in the baby business is expecting the unexpected. Please reach out even if you’re already home when you realize you might need me. I offer lots flexible support options that may still work on short notice. If not, I’ll gladly help you find some resources to help bridge the gap. See my prices here.

Baby is here!

  • Any member of your birth support team can give me a call, text me, or email me to let me know that baby has landed! ASAP is appreciated to make sure calendars can get coordinated. I’ll make sure you have an easy-to-use contact card that can be given to anyone helping out.

  • I’d love to! See the “Feather Duster” package for details.

  • Let me know when you’ll be arriving at home. My goal is to get to you by your second day home (first full day). My promise is to get to you by the day after that. If I cannot be there, a backup doula will be. You can rely on me to make sure you have support.

Example. You are discharged on Monday morning and spend Monday afternoon at home. I will make every effort to be there on Tuesday. I promise I will be there by Wednesday.

From there, we will arrange visits on a weekly basis according to the terms of your package.

  • Every baby comes to us in their own we and we grown-ups tend to have very little say in the matter.

Sometimes, this involves extra time in the hospital. During this challenging time, I can perform all of the same support. Grabbing things from the house, mail and package management, and meal drops can make your stay more restful. I would also be honored to keep you company at the hospital, helping you process and understand your new situation.

Doula Care Visits

  • I’ll arrive at our agreed upon time (maybe 5 minutes early). We’ll start with a quick catch up to make sure our time is spent meeting your needs. If the list is finished but there’s still time in your visit, give me more!

  • My job as a doula is to come alongside parents to teach and encourage them. Sometimes that means watching the baby while you nap (exhaustion makes everything worse). I can help with meal prep, do baby’s laundry, and generally be an extra pair of hands to help keep you sane.

If you need help with breastfeeding or infant care, we can walk through any questions you have. I’ll share resources from my training, my experience, and my never-ending reading and research. Then we’ll work together on a plan to use that information toward your goals.

  • Nope! I’ll meet you at the doctor’s office (yours or theirs), the playground, or the store. Becoming a parent doesn’t just happen in your home, it’s a new experience everywhere.

I am happy to be your support through whatever experiences you need.

  • I can! I have less availability for overnights, so be sure to let me know when you book your package.

While an overnight visit might play out differently, the idea is the same. I’ll arrive before you go to bed so we have a chance to catch up. Once you’re down for the night, I’ll mind the baby and quietly get things in order for when you wake up. Depending on the length of the visit, we can debrief when you’re up or next time I see you.

There is a $5/hr upcharge for any time worked between 7pm and 8am.

  • Of course! Your support people are so excited to come meet baby and help where they can and that feeling of love is so great.

But the fourth trimester is a very sensitive time for everyone in the family. Sometimes, a professional hand can help parents feel more confident in their own abilities, making visits with family easier

Paying for Doula Services

  • At this time I do not provide visits a la carte. In order to ensure a quality relationship, it is important to have more time together. A la carte visits do not facilitate this.

However, if you have booked a package, we can absolutely meet ad hoc. These visits are $90.

  • Absolutely! I personally recommend this as a gift for families with a lot of geographic distance.

To make this gifting option simple, I recommend adding a “cash goal” to your registry and linking to my site for anyone who wants more info.

I am working to add an option directly through my website. This will be updated when that becomes available.

  • I am currently offering a discount of 15% on base package rates for families that complete an evaluation toward my certification.

Beyond that, I have no plans to offer discounts or special rates at this time.
